Coyotes to Call New ASU Arena Home

Agreement Reached for Five-Year Lease

Team to Play in 17,500-Seat Facility

The Arizona Coyotes have announced that they have reached an agreement with Arizona State University to play at the Sun Devils' new multipurpose arena beginning in the 2022-23 season. The arena, which is scheduled to open in the fall of 2022, will have 17,500 fixed seats for NHL games and the capacity for roughly 1,500 additional temporary seats for non-hockey events.

The Coyotes have been in search of a new home since their lease at Gila River Arena in Glendale expired at the end of the 2021-22 season. The team had been exploring several options, including a new arena in Tempe and a move to Quebec City, but ultimately decided to stay in the Phoenix area.

The agreement with ASU is a five-year lease, with the Coyotes having the option to extend the lease for an additional five years. The team will pay ASU $1.5 million per year in rent, plus a share of ticket revenue and other expenses.

The Coyotes are excited to move into their new home and believe that theASU arena will be a great place to watch hockey," said Coyotes President and CEO Xavier Gutierrez. "We're looking forward to working with ASU to create a great experience for our fans."
